Set on lovely Ras Shaitan beach, Ramadan Camp offers around 30 basic huts with shared bathroom facilities. Prices from 30LE per person per night, excluding breakfast.

Ramadan Camp has a nice seating area, wooden deck chairs on the sandy beach and lovely restaurant. Electricity is available in the evening only. The camp has very good mobile phone connection, so bringing your USB dongle will give you great internet access.

So a hotel with wifi, 24 hour electricity and restaurant will get a higher rating than a camp with cleaner bathrooms and a nicer view, but no internet or dive centre. Most of the time the rating will also depict the price range; where 1 stars will be very basic and very cheap and 5 stars will be expensive, but luxurious...
